Labor Law Poster Spotlight: Important New Posters from Connecticut, Michigan, and Missouri
Connecticut’s Discrimination Poster
Connecticut significantly streamlined its Discrimination Poster. Instead of including three separate lists of protected classes of discrimination, the poster now states that Connecticut law prohibits discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations, and credit transactions on the basis of:
- Age
- Alienage
- Ancestry
- Color
- Disability (past and present intellectual, mental, learning, and physical disabilities, including, but not limited to, blindness, deafness, mobility impairments, and use of a guide dog or guide dog in training)
- Familial status (housing only)
- Gender identity or expression
- Genetic information (employment only)
- Lawful source of income (housing and public accommodations only)
- Marital status
- National origin
- Race
- Religious creed
- Sex (including pregnancy, childbirth and related conditions, accommodations for pregnancy, breastfeeding, and sexual harassment)
- Sexual orientation
- Status as a veteran
- Status as a victim of domestic violence
- Criminal conviction
- Erased criminal history
- Retaliation for protected activity (including filing with CHRO)

Missouri’s Earned Paid Sick Leave Poster
Last year, Missouri voters approved Proposition A, which was a ballot measure decided on during the November 2024 general election, requiring employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave starting May 1, 2025. Despite a recent legal challenge to the ballot measure, the Missouri Supreme Court on April 29, 2025, ruled that Proposition A was valid, paving the way for the law to take effect on May 1.
Accordingly, Missouri’s new Earned Paid Sick Leave Poster was released. The poster provides that employees accrue earned paid sick time at the rate of 1 hour of earned paid sick time for every 30 hours of work. Employers with 15 or more employees must provide up to 56 hours of earned paid sick time per year while employers with less than 15 employees must provide up to 40 hours of earned paid sick time. The poster also provides information relating to employer exceptions, employee rights, and retaliation.
Missouri’s Earned Paid Sick Leave Poster is required for all employers. The newly released poster has also been added to the Standard Update Program, which is shipping to customer locations in Missouri.
Michigan’s Resources for Veterans Poster
Earlier this year, Michigan passed the Veteran’s Employee Resource Notification Act. The law provides a new labor law posting requirement for veterans’ benefits and services in the state, effective April 2, 2025. Accordingly, the state released the Resources for Michigan Veterans Poster. The poster includes the following resources and contact information:
- Military and veterans affairs support
- Mental health and substance abuse services
- Education, workforce, and job training resources
- Tax benefits
- Military and veteran plate/ID options
- Unemployment benefits
- Legal services
Michigan’s Resources for Veterans Poster is required to be displayed by all employers in the workplace. GovDocs is shipping new posters out to customer locations in Michigan, and the posters will also be included in the GovDocs Intranet Poster Program.
